GLOBAL IMPACT
On the Ground Through IDES
Because Ekklesia gives faithfully month after month, we’re already positioned to help when the need arises. Through our partnership with International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES), your generosity becomes immediate relief and long-term recovery for families around the world.
In the first quarter of this year, IDES’ international relief efforts focused heavily on refugees from Iran, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, providing food, water, essential hygiene supplies, shelter, and clothing while partnering with local churches so help arrives with dignity, accountability, and hope.

Your giving becomes practical love in places we may never see, but God never overlooks.
MAKING ROOM FOR EVERY STORY
Shine Expansion +
Kids Ministry Growth
Shine Adults is moving under one roof. Right now, accessibility accommodations are being made so the Shine Adults program can transition from its current off-site location to be fully integrated with the whole church family. This shift is coming in June, and it represents inclusion.
At the same time, Shine Kids has outgrown the current space. Design plans are moving forward for a new Shine Kids environment built for sensory-friendly play, meaningful engagement, and thoughtful support—a space that helps every child thrive.
Improvements have also begun in the Kids Ministry area by opening additional space for lower elementary large group, allowing upper and lower elementary to be split for more age-specific teaching and activities.
Game Changer is building a culture where every person is seen, served, and discipled.
As Shine Kids expands, the need for trained, caring volunteers expands too—including buddies, Shine room leaders, and support roles across regular classrooms.

FOR OUR SPECIAL GUESTS
Night to Shine
In February, Ekklesia hosted Night to Shine, in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation—a prom night centered on honoring people with special needs as image-bearers of God. This is one of our most significant annual outreach investments because it reflects something we believe deeply: every person deserves to be seen, celebrated, and included.
Night to Shine is also a powerful picture of Game Changer: it takes sacrificial giving, hundreds of volunteer hours, and thoughtful planning to create a night where families feel supported and our honored guests experience pure joy.

CELEBRATING THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE MINISTRY MOVE
Voscars
One of the clearest signs of what God is doing in us is this: more people are stepping into meaningful service. In January, we hosted our second annual Voscars—our “Volunteer Oscars”—to honor the people who serve faithfully week after week, often behind the scenes.
Right now, we have more volunteers serving than ever before at Ekklesia. That’s a reflection of discipleship. Game Changer isn’t only expanding what we can build; it’s expanding who we are becoming: a church where everyone has a place, a purpose, and a part to play.

KEEPING OUR PROMISE
18 Months of Help in North Carolina
During January, February, and March, teams from Ekklesia continued traveling to North Carolina, completing our 18-month commitment to help families displaced by the hurricane and flooding in the fall of 2024.
This wasn’t a one-time response—it was a sustained ministry of presence. As the immediate headlines faded, the needs remained, and your generosity helped Ekklesia stay faithful to the long work of restoration: serving families, supporting recovery efforts, and partnering with local leaders to meet real needs with compassion and excellence.
As we close this chapter, we’re gathering final stories and photos from the field. What you gave wasn’t just assistance. It was hope. It was help. It was the hands of Jesus showing up again and again.

GLOBAL MISSIONS SPOTLIGHT
The Cobos Family in Ethiopia
One of the most meaningful ways Ekklesia gets to participate in the Great Commission is through long-term, relational partnerships with missionaries on the ground. This quarter, we’re celebrating our continued support of Luis and Rachel Cobos and their family as they serve in Ethiopia alongside Soddo Christian Hospital and the PAACS network.
Rachel is a general and critical care surgeon, and Luis brings engineering and administrative expertise. Together they’ve sensed God’s call to invest their lives in building hope and healing lives in Ethiopia. Their mission is not only medical care, but also discipling and developing local leaders—training African doctors and partnering with local believers to become faith leaders who strengthen their communities for generations.
